The short version: Pakistan's double-cab pickup market now has four clear choices. The JAC T9 starts at Rs 8,775,000 (Frison 4x2) and the T9 Hunter 4x4 is listed at Rs 10,500,000. The Changan Nevo Hunter REEV is Rs 10,990,000. The Isuzu D-Max runs from Rs 8,100,000 to Rs 13,390,000. The Toyota Hilux Revo runs from Rs 12,329,000 to Rs 15,839,000. The JAC is the cheapest 4x4 automatic. The Hunter has the lowest running cost if you charge it at home. The D-Max gives the widest choice of variants. The Revo costs the most but has the strongest resale and service network.
We took every price below from the maker's own Pakistan site or from the Autowheels model page, and checked them on 21 October 2026. Where a maker does not publish a figure, such as payload or towing for the Revo, we say so rather than fill the gap with a guess. Diesel and petrol costs use the OGRA prices in force from 21 October 2026: high-speed diesel Rs 389.80 and petrol Rs 382.02 a litre (see today's fuel prices).

Read the small print: these prices are not all on the same basis. JAC says its T9 Frison figure is ex-showroom and includes freight, CVT and NEV tax. Changan says the Hunter figure includes freight and CVT. Isuzu labels its prices ex-factory with withholding tax on top. Toyota publishes ex-factory prices. Before you compare final cash outlay, ask each dealer for a written on-road quote that lists withholding tax, registration, token and insurance. Our new car price guide explains how each of these charges is worked out.
Changan has called its Hunter price introductory, with booking at Rs 2,200,000. Ghandhara set the T9 Frison booking at Rs 2,300,000 when it launched the truck. Toyota and Isuzu booking amounts vary by dealer and variant.

JAC T9: the cheapest way into an automatic 4x4 pickup
Ghandhara Automobiles sells the JAC T9 in two forms. The Frison 4x2 launched at Rs 8,775,000, a price Ghandhara says covers freight, CVT and NEV tax (Ghandhara's T9 Frison launch notice). The Hunter 4x4 is listed on Autowheels at Rs 10,500,000. Ghandhara's own Ghandhara's T9 page does not currently show that figure, so get it confirmed on your booking order.
The spec sheet is strong for the money. You get a 2.0-litre common-rail diesel making 125 kW and 410 Nm from 1,500 to 2,500 rpm, a ZF 8-speed automatic and BorgWarner part-time four-wheel drive with an automatic diff lock. Payload is 1,000 kg and braked towing is 3,500 kg, which matches the D-Max on paper. The cabin has a 10.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, curtain airbags, an electronic parking brake and six speakers. The front suspension is double wishbone and the rear uses leaf springs on a rigid axle, which is the usual layout for a load-carrying truck.
Watch-outs: the spec sheet lists the engine as Euro II. That works with Pakistani diesel, but it is an older emissions standard than the newest trucks abroad. JAC's dealer network is also smaller than Toyota's or Isuzu's, so check the nearest 3S facility before you buy. Autowheels lists the T9 at about 10 km/L. For sister JAC commercial models, see the JAC 1042K and JAC X200 pages, or the full JAC range.
Changan Nevo Hunter REEV: the electric-drive pickup
The Nevo Hunter is not a hybrid in the usual sense. Its wheels are driven only by electric motors: a 110 kW front motor and a 130 kW rear motor. A 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine runs as a generator to top up the 31.18 kWh LFP battery. Changan Pakistan lists the truck at Rs 10,990,000 with freight and CVT included on Changan Pakistan's Hunter page. It claims 322 hp, 131 km of electric range on the NEDC cycle, more than 900 km of combined range and 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
The official Hunter REEV brochure gives payload as 1,010 kg and braked towing as 2,500 kg. The bed measures 1,590 × 1,580 × 490 mm, with a full-drop hydraulic tailgate. Other features include 3.3 kW vehicle-to-load with two 220-volt sockets, which can run tools or a small fridge at a farm or campsite. There is also a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 7.5-inch cluster, 40 W wireless charging, 265/60 R18 tyres and ESP, traction control, hill-hold, hill-descent control and tyre-pressure monitoring.
Watch-outs: towing capacity is 1,000 kg lower than the diesel trucks. If you pull a heavy trailer, horsebox or boat, this matters. Changan Pakistan's site does not publish the fuel tank size, charging speeds or the 4x4 low-range details. Some dealer listings quote figures for these, but we have left them out until Changan puts them in writing. Autowheels does not yet have a dedicated Hunter model page. Our Master Changan October line-up report covers bookings and deliveries, and the Changan brand page lists the rest of the range, including the Changan M9 light commercial.
Isuzu D-Max: the widest range of variants
Isuzu Pakistan sells seven Isuzu D-Max variants, more than any rival, from Rs 8,100,000 to Rs 13,390,000 (Isuzu Pakistan's D-Max site). The range splits into three groups:
- Work trucks: the Hi-Spark single cab 1.9L (Rs 8,100,000; 150 PS, 350 Nm, 4x2, 3.5-tonne towing) and the Hi-Rider single cab 3.0L (Rs 9,265,000).
- Two-wheel-drive double cab: the V-Cross Auto Plus 1.9L (Rs 10,790,000). It has the high-ride body, a 6-speed automatic, 18-inch alloys and push start, but drives the rear wheels only.
- Proper 4x4 double cabs: the Hi-Rider D/C 3.0L manual (Rs 11,320,000), V-Cross G manual (Rs 12,250,000), V-Cross G automatic (Rs 12,865,000) and X-Terrain automatic (Rs 13,390,000). These use the 3.0-litre 190 PS, 450 Nm diesel. Isuzu says this engine lets the truck carry a one-tonne payload or tow 3.5 tonnes. They also get a rear diff lock, rough terrain mode, ESC, hill-descent control and hill-start assist. The X-Terrain adds seven airbags, a 9-inch screen and 800 mm wading depth.
Autowheels lists the D-Max at roughly 10 to 13 km/L depending on engine and use. Used examples are on our used Isuzu D-Max listings, and the full brand line-up is on the Isuzu page.

Toyota Hilux Revo: the premium benchmark
The Toyota Hilux Revo is the most expensive of the four and the default choice for many buyers. It starts at Rs 12,329,000 for the G manual and climbs to Rs 15,839,000 for the GR-S. Every version uses the 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV diesel making 150 kW. Torque is 420 Nm with the 6-speed manual and 500 Nm with the 6-speed automatic, according to the Revo spec sheet. Toyota Indus lists part-time 4WD and a rear diff lock. A-TRC, hill-assist and trailer sway control come from the G automatic upwards, and the top grades add downhill assist and a limited-slip differential (Toyota Indus Revo page). The G rides on 265/65 R17 tyres and the V and Rocco on 265/60 R18.
Toyota Indus does not publish payload or towing figures for the Pakistani Revo, so we have not quoted any. If you need a rated figure for a commercial contract or a trailer, ask the dealer for it in writing. The Revo's real advantages are its huge parts and workshop network and strong resale value. Check our used Toyota Hilux listings to see how well older Revos hold their prices. Autowheels lists the Revo at about 9.5 to 12 km/L.
If you need a work truck rather than a lifestyle double cab, Toyota Indus also sells the Toyota Hilux single cab: 4x2 at Rs 7,079,000, 4x2 Upspec at Rs 7,109,000, deckless at Rs 6,549,000 and single-cab 4x4 at Rs 9,369,000 (prices from Toyota Indus). For a seven-seat SUV on the same base, see the Toyota Fortuner.

Diesel vs REEV: what each pickup costs to run
This is the biggest difference between the four trucks. The example below assumes 2,000 km a month, which is typical for a business user or a family that drives every day between cities. These are estimates, not test results. The diesel figures use the fuel averages listed on Autowheels: 10 km/L for the T9, 11 km/L for the D-Max (the middle of its 10–13 range) and 10.5 km/L for the Revo (the middle of 9.5–12). For the Hunter we assume 0.28 kWh per km from the wall, including charging losses, Rs 60 per unit for electricity, and 10 km/L from the petrol generator when the battery is empty. Changan Pakistan has not published that last figure, so treat it as an assumption.
| Truck and scenario | Energy used per month | Estimated monthly cost | Per km |
|---|---|---|---|
| JAC T9 (diesel, 10 km/L) | 200 L diesel | Rs 77,960 | Rs 39.0 |
| Toyota Hilux Revo (diesel, 10.5 km/L) | 190 L diesel | Rs 74,248 | Rs 37.1 |
| Isuzu D-Max (diesel, 11 km/L) | 182 L diesel | Rs 70,873 | Rs 35.4 |
| Nevo Hunter, never charged (petrol generator only) | 200 L petrol | Rs 76,404 | Rs 38.2 |
| Nevo Hunter, 40% of km on electricity | 224 kWh + 120 L petrol | Rs 59,282 | Rs 29.6 |
| Nevo Hunter, 70% of km on electricity (daily home charging) | 392 kWh + 60 L petrol | Rs 46,441 | Rs 23.2 |
What this means: if you plug the Hunter in every night and most of your trips are within its electric range, it can cost about Rs 31,519 a month less to run than a T9 on these assumptions, or around Rs 378,226 a year. If you never charge it, the advantage is gone and it costs about the same as a diesel. Pakistan's NEV Policy 2025–30 uses a similar method: it compares a petrol car with an EV charged at Rs 60 per unit and finds the EV about 68% cheaper per km. Your own saving depends on your tariff slab, solar panels and how often you tow or carry heavy loads. Heavy loads cut electric range sharply.
Diesel trucks still win on long rural trips, at sites with no charging point, and when you tow more than 2,500 kg. The Hunter wins in city and suburban use where it can be charged daily. Payload, towing and 4x4: which truck does the hard work best
- Heaviest towing: the JAC T9 and Isuzu D-Max 3.0 both have a 3,500 kg braked rating. The Hunter is rated at 2,500 kg. Toyota Indus does not publish a towing figure for the Revo.
- Payload: all three trucks with published figures sit at about one tonne: the T9 at 1,000 kg, the Hunter at 1,010 kg and the D-Max at about 1 tonne.
- Off-road hardware: the Revo and D-Max 4x4 have the most proven setups, with part-time or shift-on-the-fly 4WD, rear diff locks and (on the D-Max) 800 mm wading. The T9 adds a BorgWarner transfer case and an automatic diff lock. The Hunter uses two electric motors instead of a mechanical transfer case. That gives instant torque at each axle, but Changan Pakistan has not published low-range or wading figures.
- Two-wheel-drive options: if you never leave tarmac, the T9 Frison 4x2 (Rs 8,775,000) and D-Max V-Cross Auto Plus 4x2 (Rs 10,790,000) cost less than their 4x4 versions, and they are lighter on fuel and tyres.
Which pickup suits which buyer
| If you are… | Best fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A business that needs a cheap, rugged load carrier | D-Max Hi-Spark or Hilux single cab | Lowest prices (Rs 6.55m–8.1m), simple mechanicals and wide service networks |
| A family that wants an automatic 4x4 on a budget | JAC T9 Hunter 4x4 | 8-speed automatic, 360° camera and 3.5-tonne towing for about Rs 1.8m less than a Revo G manual |
| A city-based owner who can charge at home | Changan Nevo Hunter REEV | Lowest running cost when charged daily, 322 hp, V2L power for tools and camping |
| A farmer or contractor who tows heavy loads | Isuzu D-Max 3.0 4x4 | 3.5-tonne towing, rear diff lock, 800 mm wading and a manual or automatic choice |
| A buyer who values resale above all | Toyota Hilux Revo | Largest dealer network and strongest second-hand demand |
| Someone who wants a plug-in pickup with more range | Look at the BYD Shark 6 | Listed on Autowheels at Rs 19,950,000, well above this group |
Want something even bigger? The MG U9 is listed at Rs 28,749,000. To compare any two of these trucks line by line, use the Autowheels comparison tool, or browse all pickups on sale in Pakistan.
Before you book: a short checklist
- Ask for a written on-road quote. JAC and Changan include freight and CVT in their prices, while Isuzu adds withholding tax on top. Compare final cash, not headline prices.
- Ask the dealer to confirm the delivery month and whether the price is locked if taxes change before delivery.
- For the Hunter, ask about the charger, installation cost and whether your home wiring can take it.
- For the T9 Hunter 4x4, get the Rs 10,500,000 price confirmed on Ghandhara's booking form, because the official site does not yet show it.
- If you tow, ask Toyota for the Revo's rated towing in writing before you buy.
- Check how far your nearest authorised workshop is. Pickups are often driven far from cities.
Bottom line
The JAC T9 gives you the most for your money, with an automatic 4x4 and a long equipment list from Rs 8,775,000 (Frison 4x2) or Rs 10,500,000 (Hunter 4x4). The Changan Nevo Hunter REEV at Rs 10,990,000 is the one to pick if you can charge at home and don't tow more than 2,500 kg. The Isuzu D-Max has a version for almost every budget and the strongest towing and wading figures. The Toyota Hilux Revo remains the safe premium choice, but that badge and network cost about Rs 1.3 million more than a Nevo Hunter at entry level, and the GR-S costs Rs 7 million more than a T9 Frison. All prices were checked on official maker sites or Autowheels pages on 21 October 2026, and they can change without notice.
