The JAC 1042K is the largest of the four JAC models currently presented in the official Pakistan product lineup. It is a cab-over commercial truck chassis designed around a 14-foot deck format and is aimed at operators who need more cargo length and stronger engine output than the 1020K provides. The model can serve general freight, wholesale distribution, refrigerated transport, municipal work and a range of specialised body applications. Its purchasing logic is commercial: the vehicle should be selected according to route, cargo density, finished body weight, loading frequency and expected daily utilisation rather than passenger-car priorities.

Official dimensions are 5,958 mm in length, 1,725 mm in width and 2,215 mm in height, with a 3,360 mm wheelbase. Minimum ground clearance is listed at 190 mm, and the minimum turning radius is 7 metres. The longer wheelbase creates space for the 14-foot deck and can improve straight-line stability under load, but it also needs more room at intersections, loading bays and narrow streets. Fleet buyers should measure access points and consider the completed body height before committing to routes with low bridges, covered loading areas or restricted urban entrances.

The 1042K is powered by a 2,771 cc turbocharged and intercooled four-cylinder diesel engine. The official Pakistan specification lists 91 hp at 3,600 rpm and 216 Nm between 1,800 and 2,200 rpm, along with Euro II emissions classification. It uses a manual transmission with five forward gears and one reverse. The extra torque over the naturally aspirated 1020K is valuable when starting with a load, climbing grades or maintaining progress on intercity routes. Leaf springs are used at both the front and rear to provide the durability and load support expected from a medium commercial vehicle.
