JAECOO J5 EV Price in Pakistan to Be Revealed on 6 November

OMODA & JAECOO Pakistan will announce the ex-factory price of the locally assembled JAECOO J5 EV on 6 November 2026. The company confirmed the date in a teaser on its official channels in late October. Until then there is no official price, and booking terms and the delivery timeline are also due to follow the announcement.

The J5 EV matters because it is a battery electric SUV built from kits in Pakistan rather than imported fully built. Local assembly usually helps with availability, parts supply and bank financing, but none of that tells you the price yet.

What is confirmed so far

  • The J5 EV is assembled in CKD form at NexGen Auto's plant in Faisalabad, the Nishat Group company behind OMODA and JAECOO in Pakistan.
  • It was first shown at the Pakistan Auto Show at Expo Centre Lahore in September 2026.
  • The locally assembled version was revealed in late October, after an imported display car had been shown earlier. The company says the first locally assembled unit came off the line in October.
  • The same plant already builds the J5 hybrid and the JAECOO J7 plug in hybrid, and recently passed 15,000 locally assembled units.

The company describes the J5 EV as Pakistan's first locally assembled battery electric car. That is its own claim and we have not seen an independent register that confirms it.

Pakistan specifications shown at the local reveal

These are the figures the company showed for the locally assembled Premium Plus variant. They are manufacturer claims, and the full Pakistan specification sheet is expected with the price.

ItemJAECOO J5 EV Premium Plus (Pakistan reveal)
Battery58.9 kWh
MotorSingle front motor, 155 kW (207.8 hp)
Torque288 Nm
DriveFront wheel drive
0 to 100 km/h7.7 seconds (claimed)
AC chargingUp to 11 kW, with an 11 kW charger included
DC fast chargingUp to 130 kW
Vehicle to load3.3 kW
Wheels18 inch
Battery warrantyEight years (terms not yet published)

Equipment shown includes a panoramic roof, ventilated front seats, rear air vents, rear charging ports and a 540 degree camera. The 3.3 kW vehicle to load output can run small appliances from the car, which is a practical extra during load shedding.

Which range figure to trust

The range quoted at the Pakistan reveal was 392 km on the WLTP cycle and 335 km on the stricter EPA cycle. JAECOO's official specification sheets in other markets list the same 58.9 kWh LFP battery with 402 km on the WLTP combined cycle and 461 km on the older NEDC cycle.

So until a Pakistan certified figure is published, think of the J5 EV as a car with roughly 390 to 400 km of laboratory range. In summer heat at motorway speeds with the air conditioning on, expect noticeably less, closer to the EPA figure or below. These are test cycle numbers, not results from Pakistani roads.

Some overseas details also differ from the local reveal. One market lists a 10.3 kW three phase AC charging limit rather than 11 kW, for example. Treat overseas sheets as a guide only until the Pakistan sheet is out.

What the 6 November price needs to answer

No price has been announced and we are not estimating one. When it arrives, these are the useful reference points.

  • The J5 hybrid currently lists at Rs 6,699,000 for the Comfort and Rs 7,699,000 for the Premium. Those are hybrid prices, not EV prices.
  • Locally sold electric SUVs such as the OMODA E5, BYD Atto 2 and Atto 3, and Deepal S07 are in our new car price directory, so you can line the J5 EV up against them once the figure is out.
  • Financing matters for a car in this bracket. A proposal in the draft auto policy would raise the EV loan limit, but it is not yet in force, as we explained in our report on the proposed Rs 10 million EV financing cap.

Also check whether the announced figure is ex-factory only. Registration, token tax and any withholding tax are paid on top, and a home charger still needs a suitable electrical supply at your house even if the charger itself is included.

What happens next

On 6 November the company is due to publish the ex-factory price. Booking amounts, the variant list, warranty terms in writing and the delivery schedule are expected to follow. We will update this story once the official price circular is out.
